Your contributions at work!

Another wonderfully successful, and gratifying, trip to KENYA!

Working with our physical therapist (Loyd) and an occupational therapist on patient transfers, bed mobility, and brace fitting with a young girl who suffers from Spinal Muscle Atrophy that has caused her to become progressively weaker and unable to walk.

Training our therapists in care for pediatric and neurological patients. In this picture, Michelle is helping a young boy walk.

Critical Supplies were distributed.

Donated supplies needed to be hand carried due to shipping restrictions. Equipment can be difficult or virtually impossible to get to the clinic. Supplies that CPT donated included physical therapy equipment such as ultrasounds, electrical stimulation units, theraband, myofascial decompression tools, foam rolls, hand therapy tools, wound care supplies, and more!

Home visits were made to our most vulnerable patients.

We visited a woman who suffered a stroke and is unable to make the trip to receive treatment at the clinic. We evaluated her and gave her home exercises to stretch and strengthen her weak side so that she has the ability to increase her quality of life.

Support our physical therapists in Kenya.

Compassion Physical Therapy sponsors and works along side physical therapists native to the area so that they can provide care to patient’s who would otherwise not have access to this type of care. We teach and train our therapists on treatment techniques and evaluation/assessment skills. Most importantly, we get to co-treat patients with our therapists so that we empower them as professionals and that the patients receive the best quality of care.

How we help...

Here, Natalie is conducting a course on cup therapy for the physical therapists to train them in different types of pain management and myofascial decompression techniques.

Honored to be welcomed into the clinic!

Your donations ensure our clinic continues to thrive!

CPT began working in Kenya in 2013 at the Kimbilio Hospice. Our work there now includes an outpatient clinic as well as home visits in the surrounding communities.
